Unlike many people, I watch the news less & less. I know it's important to keep up with at least some of what goes on in the world, but I leave that to my husband. I think the media hysteria does more damage to the world than good. All you hear is negativity; financial crisis, war, political instability; doom and gloom. All it creates is anxiety and fear, crippling the human spirit. And people take each word for the absolute truth. Sad that all that negativity makes a bigger impact on our brains than stories of inspiration!
You can't change the overall economy but you can change your response to it!! Negative news affects your thoughts, which attracts more negative into your reality! If you immerse yourself in bad news and think about negative situations, you will attract the same in to your life.
We can always shut off the news but how do you keep from reacting to negative conversation? By allowing. Let the people around you create their negative cloud and just observe it. Don't take part in it. Just observe, don't participate. Being observant is not giving in to the part of you that wants to be right and adding to the negativity.
When you are aware that you are experiencing negative emotion and you want to change the way you feel, one of the simplest ways for me is to practice Appreciation. The more you practice appreciation, the less resistance you have, the better your life will be. Every time you appreciate something, every time you praise something, every time you feel good about something, you are telling the Universe: "More of this please". No one can feel positive all the time, but we can recognise when we are in a negative state and adjust our thoughts, even if it means putting on music that makes us happy, or thinking of a wonderful time in our past or getting out for a walk and appreciate nature!
When you change the way you see the world, your world changes and yes, it starts with each of us!
